Using your medical insurance

  • Arrange a referral (verbal or letter) from your GP or consultant
  • Ring your PMI for pre-authorisation before treatment starts
  • State that you wish to treated by me (some call centre staff may try and send you elsewhere)
  • Confirm I am CSP and HPC registered
  • Go through this process even if you have an excess to pay – submitting invoices will be set against the excess for that policy year
  • Submit your invoice to your PMI who will pay me directly.
  • (Don’t forget that any fee not paid by your PMI is your responsibility)

My credentials

I am a member of, or am registered with, the following regulatory and governing professional bodies who set standards and guidelines, run courses and monitor the quality of my practice, ensuring I keep my skills up to date.

I mentor colleagues on returning to work programmes and am regularly involved in teaching for continual professional development purposes. I also participate in data collection projects for my professional bodies.

I am registered with Private Medical Insurers including, Aviva, WPA and others. See the tip box.

If you are not covered by insurance then a doctor’s referral is not essential although I may suggest you see them if I have any concerns about you or your condition. It is generally unnecessary to have X-rays or other imaging procedures prior to assessment and treatment.

I have a long association with and am a member and sponsor of Dorking Rugby Football Club. I offer a discounted treatment fee for all playing members. www.dorkingrugbyfootballclub.co.uk.

I also undertake assessments and treatment of patients referred by intermediary companies e.g. after road traffic accidents and/or to assess the suitability of individuals to return to their work place.
